Writing Background

  • Writing: Freelance writer, poet and book reviewer for the past five years.  Published on Poetic Diversity (poeticdiversity.org) with reviews and articles published on La Bloga and Xispas, two websites with a strong Hispanic/Latino focus.   La Bloga was named Tu Ciudad's Best Blog of the Year for 2006.  Gina is also a columnist with Blogcritics.org and has a regular section entitled Minor Considerations, a column dedicated to children's literature. 
  • Reviewing: Gina writes general book reviews for AmoXcalli, a book recommendation blog and for Cuentecitos, a book review blog dedicated to Latino Children's and YA books. 

  • Business and Corporate Writing: Developer, writer, editor and designer of a wide range of business materials, including brochures, newsletters, and correspondence.
  • Industry Affiliations: Panelist for Cybils YA graphic novels awards in two age groups.  Member of SCBWI - Los Angeles Chapter.  Member of Linkedin Journalists and Las Comadres Para Las Americas.
